The Bahrain Development Bank Group have contributed to supporting the national afforestation campaign “Forever Green” launched by the National Initiative for Agricultural Development in partnership with several relevant institutions. The campaign aims to plant over 50,000 trees in 27 sites in different governorates, on an area covering more than 70,000 square meters at a total cost of more than half million Bahraini dinars.

The campaign aims to expand the green area in the kingdom to protect the environment and reduce the climate change effects. as also to increase youth awareness and support the United Nations Decade for Ecosystem Restoration 2021-2030.

Mr. Sanjeev Paul, CEO of the Bahrain Development Bank Group, said: “The support and contribution of the Bahrain Development Bank Group to the “Forever Green” campaign comes as an extension of our constructive partnership with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, and acknowledging the great importance of the afforestation campaign in terms of expanding the green spaces in Bahrain and reducing the carbon footprint. This contribution is one of many initiatives strengthening the group’s role in the development of the agricultural sector in the Kingdom, beside the financing programs and other support services provided by the group to this vital sector.”

Mr. Paul added that Bahrain Development Bank Group has always supported meaningful social initiatives and programs which serve the Bahraini community.
