With its ongoing efforts to encourage and support the development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) made a presentation to a group of students at the Business College of the University of Bahrain. The presentation was made by BDB Advisory Department represented by Raman Jaggi and Nayef Al Ansari and was attended by a group of about 50 students. The presentation provided coverage to BDB’s financial and developmental services and exposed the students to BDB’s initiative in helping young Bahrainis for new business development.
The students were also given presentation on business planning and were given guidance to establishing a new business entity in Bahrain. The presentation generated interest and encouragement among the students and several queries raised by them were answered by the presenters.
As part of the campaign, BDB has planned to make more such focused presentations in the near future to expose the student community to the business opportunities available in Bahrain and to encourage them for self employment career option. The BDB is regularly conducting specialized training programs in entrepreneurship for young Bahrainis jointly with it’s network partners. The bank is also organizing self employment programs in web design and networking services through its subsidiary the Bahrain Institute of Technology (BIT) to train young Bahrainis and help them take up self employment career option in the IT sector.
